Instructions for Authors
The Journal of Continuing and Development Education (JCDE) invites authors to submit high-quality, original research articles, reviews, and case studies that contribute to the field of continuing and development education. To ensure a smooth submission process and timely publication, please carefully read and follow the instructions provided below.
1. Manuscript Preparation
1.1 General Guidelines:
- Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English.
- Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or LaTeX format. Ensure that the text is double-spaced, using a standard 12-point font (e.g., Times New Roman).
- Length: Research articles should not exceed 8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures. Review articles and case studies should not exceed 6,000 words.
- Margins: Use 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides.
- Page Numbers: Include page numbers at the bottom center of each page.
1.2 Structure:
- Title Page: The title page should include the following:
- Title of the manuscript (concise and informative)
- Names and affiliations of all authors
- Corresponding author’s name, email address, and phone number
- Abstract: Provide a structured abstract of no more than 250 words, including the purpose, methods, results, and conclusion.
- Keywords: Include 4-6 keywords that accurately reflect the content of the manuscript.
- Main Text: Organize the main text into the following sections:
- Introduction
- Literature Review (if applicable)
- Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgments: Recognize any funding sources or individuals who contributed to the research but are not listed as authors.
- References: Follow the APA (7th edition) citation style for all references.
- Tables and Figures: Include tables and figures at the end of the manuscript, each on a separate page. Ensure that they are numbered consecutively and include descriptive captions.
2. Submission Process
2.1 Online Submission:
- Manuscripts can be be submitted electronically through the JCDE online submission system. First-time users will need to create an account or via email at journalcde@gmail.com
2.2 Cover Letter:
- A cover letter should accompany the manuscript submission. The cover letter should include:
- A statement confirming that the manuscript is original, has not been published before, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- A brief description of the research and its significance.
- Any relevant information about conflicts of interest.
2.3 Ethical Considerations:
- Authors must adhere to ethical standards in conducting and reporting research. This includes obtaining necessary approvals from institutional review boards (IRBs) or ethics committees and ensuring informed consent from participants.
3. Peer Review Process
3.1 Initial Screening:
- Upon submission, manuscripts undergo an initial screening for completeness and adherence to the submission guidelines.
3.2 Double Anonymous Peer Review:
- Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are subjected to a double anonymous peer review process. Reviewers will evaluate the manuscript based on originality, significance, methodological rigor, and clarity.
3.3 Revision and Resubmission:
- Based on reviewers’ feedback, authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts. Revised manuscripts should be resubmitted with a detailed response to reviewers’ comments.
3.4 Final Decision:
- The editorial team makes the final decision on acceptance, rejection, or further revisions based on reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of the manuscript.
4. Post-Acceptance
4.1 Proofreading:
- Accepted manuscripts will undergo copyediting and proofreading. Authors will be required to review and approve the proofs before publication.
4.2 Publication:
- Articles are published online and are freely accessible to the public under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license.
