Abstract

This paper explores community development as a tool for socio-economic adjustment of retirees in Enugu state. It X-rays community development, community participation and the plight of retirees in Nigeria. It attempts to offer solutions to ameliorate post retirement related stress. The study recommends orientation for employees before retirement in order to facilitate proper adjustment, as well as increased orientation on the opportunities provided by community development initiatives.
