EXTENT OF IMPLEMENTATION OF EXTENSION EDUCATION PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES IN ENUGU STATE

This study accessed the extent of implementation of extension education programme objectives in Enugu State. One research question and one hypothesis guided the study and survey research was adopted. The total population of 850 personnel consisting of 845 facilitators and 5 administrators in the five Local Government Areas with functional adult education centers in Enugu State were used. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire titled Adult Education Programme Objectives Assessment questionnaire (AEOAQ) developed by the researcher with ten questionnaire items. The instrument was validated by three experts. The reliability co-efficient of 0.77 was obtained using cronbach Alpha co-related method. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions. The hypothesis were tested at 0.05 significant level using t – test. The result of the study reveals that facilitators and administrators agreed that Enugu State implements Extension Education to a low extent. There is no significance difference between the mean perception scores of Enugu State facilitators and Administrator on implementation of Extension Education. Based on these findings, recommendations on how to activate and improve extension education programmes in Enugu State were made.
